Terms & Conditions.

BUYERS PREMIUM of 20% is payable on the hammer price of each lot purchased. Vat is charged on the premium only.

ESTIMATES

The estimated selling price for each lot is included after the description and does not include the premium.

INSPECTION OF LOTS

Intending purchasers are in all cases solely responsible for determining the condition of lots prior to bidding, Paul Beighton Auctioneers Ltd do not guarantee that there are no defects or imperfections which have not been referred to in the lot description.

When buying second-hand goods in auction the sale of goods act 1979 does not apply. If however a lot has been catalogued incorrectly your rights remain.

CONDITION REPORTS

Condition reports, when included, are provided as a guide only. The absence of a report does not denote that the lot is in good Condition.

ELECTRICAL GOODS

All electrical goods must be checked by a qualified electrician they may not comply with current British standards. Electrical good have not been tested to be in working order.

DIFFERENT METHODS OF BIDDING

In person at the saleroom:

If you wish to bid at the sale in person you must register with the office for a buyers number/paddle number. If you have not purchased from us before you will be asked for proof of identification.

By commission bid:

We can bid on your behalf by proxy. You can submit commission bids over the telephone or by email. We will require your full name, address, email and telephone number with the lot numbers and bid amounts.

Online Bidding

We offer an online bidding service through a third party platform. Please note that any lots purchased via this service will be subject to an additional surcharge + VAT at the rate imposed on the hammer price. The surcharge is subject to change so please be sure to check with the provider.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Online payment link sent with the invoice

Bank transfer, details also included in the email invoice.

Cash, most credit and debit cards are acceptable but there is a £200 spend limit on credit cards.

Payments made by debit card over the telephone are limited to £999

We do not accept cheques.

Protecting Auctioneers

To ensure the protection of all parties we work with from any form of illegal, unfair, or inappropriate behaviour, we take practical measures. This involves keeping track of account activities, including user contact information, device usage, website activity, bidding history, purchase records, and payment history. This information is shared with other relevant partners, such as auctioneers, to assist parties in managing their commercial risks in the context of our joint services.
In the event that behaviour is deemed inappropriate or presents a threat, we reserve the right to temporarily halt automatic approvals. In such cases, you will need to directly communicate with the auctioneer in order to participate in their auction.

White Label Platforms

When we offer technological services to an auctioneer, you become a direct customer of the auctioneer and they assume the role of data controller. The auctioneer is accountable for the handling of your data. Any enquiries or concerns regarding your data should be directed to the auctioneer.
